PRESCHOOL- January 2017

We are so excited about our January preschool plans!  We started today and had so much fun already!  I had such a great time researching new things to do with the littles this month.  W has been doing such a great job with his letters (he knows all of his upper case and lower case letters), his letter sounds (knows almost all of them), his numbers (counting up to 20), and his shapes and colors.  I wanted to start focusing on his phonological awareness skills this month as well as his concept of word in print.  And of course, we are going to do lots of art activities and PLAY!

A few notes:
- If you want the free downloads from the Teacher Pay Teachers site, then you should download them as soon as possible.  Frequently, they are only free for a short time.
- For the rhyme matching game, I only do three pairs at a time.  First, we go over all of the six pictures.  Next, we talk about listen for the sound at the end of the word.  Then, I choose one of the blue cards and say the picture with the choices on the pink card (ex. mouse-tree, mouse-house, mouse-pan).  W tells me which one he thinks is correct.  We go over it if it's incorrect and find the right rhyme.  He enjoyed the game this morning.
-W got the game Mini Muffin Match-up from Aunt Angela for Christmas!  W LOVES it!  I provided the Amazon link if you are interested:)

Here are some of our December activities...the reindeer activity was so much fun and it made the cutest ornaments for the tree!

Enjoy learning about winter, snowmen, polar bears and penguins!!!
