Disney Cruise - Day 2 At Sea

Day 2 was our at sea day so we got to cruise all day and enjoy all of the fun things on the ship!  First, we enjoyed a buffet breakfast at Cabana's...we really loved all the different choices including eggs, omelets, Mickey waffles, cereals, fresh fruit, etc.  It was lovely!

Then, the boys decided they wanted to go to the Oceaneer Lab while I took K to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!  I don't know who was more excited- me or her (okay, okay it was definitely me!).  This experience was absolutely fantastic!  They put her hair in a bun with a mini tiara and a Mickey pin in the back of the bun.  They painted her nails and put a little make-up on her.  She got her own sash and bag with her extra supplies.  She was in heaven - I never imagined that she would love it so much!  She would not let us take out her bun for THREE days and she kept going up to the mirror and saying, "I beautiful. I a princess."  Makes my heart melt...

Before...

After...

Getting her nails painted...

Being sprinkled with fairy dust...

The Mickey-shaped pin in the back!

Then, it was off to meet the princesses (and no matter how much bribing I did, the boys were not going for it so me, my husband, my sister and my nephew went with K to meet the princesses).

Frozen - Anna and Elsa

She was so excited to meet her favorite Cinderella!!!

Rapunzel...she loved her hair!

Belle was another favorite!

She loved Tiana and got some great advice about being a princess!

And all princesses need to sleep after such a big day!

I took the big boys to see "Black Panther" in the movie theater while the littles enjoyed a nap and some television in our room.  Fantastic movie!! The great thing about our room was the television showed all of the old Disney movies as well as new ones so we could turn on Snow White or Brave any time we wanted!

Before dinner, we got to meet Mickey Mouse in his formal attire...

We enjoyed eating at the newly remodeled "Rapunzel's Royal Table" on the Disney Magic...beautiful restaurant and the food was delicious!

Such a cute dessert with Rapunzel's frying pan featured...

We got to meet Chip and Dale and Minnie Mouse after the show!

And we ended the night with another towel creation...such a fun turn-down service included for the guests.  The kids got so excited to see the different towel animal each night!

Disney Cruise - Miami Arrival and Day 1 on the Disney Magic

DISNEY CRUISE 2018

We have been planning for over 8 months for our Disney Cruise!  Last summer, I booked the cruise for my family and my sister and her two sons...we chose to cruise out of Miami to Key West, Nassau, Bahamas and Disney's private island called Castaway Cay.  To say it was amazing is not enough to describe how magical this vacation was for our family!  Here are some photos and highlights from the trip...I will post more later as well!

Day 1:  Arrive in Miami and stay at the Marriot Stanton South Beach...we swam in the pool and the ocean.  Hotel was very nice and a lovely one-night stay before our cruise!

The hotel lobby..

Miami beach...so much fun to swim with cousins!

Right around the corner is a restaurant called "The Big Pink"and trust me, you want to go there to enjoy all of the food - from pancakes to an amazing southwest salad, they have everything and it is VERY GOOD!

Day 2:  Board the Disney Magic at the Miami Port
We were so excited to be on the ship!  I got these adorable shirts for the kids on Etsy..it was Mickey with his Cruise hat on!

First thing we did was go to Lumiere's for a sit-down lunch to wait for our room to be ready...it was a great choice and Will got to enjoy his first Mickey ice cream bar!

Then, we went to sign the kids in at the kids club...the Oceaneer Lab and the Oceaneer Club.  It was a wonderful space for the kids to play!

The kids got to "steer" the boat.

Toy Story area complete with a slide!

Then, it was time for the Adventures Away deck party...lots of singing and dancing and a send-off with Mickey to get the cruise started!

Each child got their own pom-pom and the screen had the characters on it that were dancing on the stage!

We got to meet Goofy right away!  Characters come out for 15 minutes at different intervals throughout the day.  We got to meet all of the characters and got all of the autographs!

Our first dinner was at Animator's Palate... my nephew J is our artist so it was fitting for him to eat here!

We enjoyed our desserts!

We celebrated Sissy's birthday that night...it was a chocolate candle, but she was determined to blow it out!

Each night ended with a cool towel made by our housekeeper - she was amazing!

And that was just Day 1...more to come over the next week!

A Party Fit for a Princess

K turned 3!  Three years of my sweet little girl and it has been nothing short of amazing!  Even with older brothers, she is every bit of a girly girl who loves princesses, Barbies, and dolls!  For her third birthday, I planned a Disney princess party!  We decided to have it at our house with a few of her sweet princess friends from preschool.  Here are all of the fun details!

Oriental Trading and Dollar Tree had the best party supplies for this theme!

My sweet cake lady bought these figurines from Amazon to put on top of the cake- much cheaper and now K is playing with the princesses!

The favors were cookies for each princess dress- Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, Belle, and Aurora.  I got them from a local bakery!

The food on display with Cinderella!

Cinderella's Sparkling Princess Popcorn - delicious!

Ariel's Goldfish- super easy!

Chip's chips- also easy!

Sleeping Beauty's Fluffy Pillows- again easy (see a theme here?)

And Rapunzel's Flower Punch - really good!

We also got pizza, made crowns and just played while eating snacks.  I tried to make it low stress for everyone!  K had an amazing time and loved blowing out her candles!!!

February 2018 Preschool Lesson Plans

So...I may be only able to do preschool lesson plans every other month.  For the last six months, I have been remodeling our home (two bathrooms, painting the whole house, building a wall, new fans/lights), starting a new business venture (more to come), and taking care of four children while my husband works pretty long hours.  BUT, I got February lesson plans done!  And W is so excited to really get into reading activities such as word sorts "like the big boys" (aka his big brothers).  He did really well with the -at and -an word families and his reading is really blossoming.  It is always so wonderful to see- I realize how much I miss teaching children to read in a classroom when working with my own children.  One day soon I will be back in the classroom...

Until then, here are my February lesson plans!  ENJOY!
